Newborn baby right after delivery

Breastfeeding and Baby Care Combo Class;  Cost: $65

Saturdays, 9am-12:30PM

Learning to take care of a new baby can be overwhelming for some, or seem very easy to those with experience with newborns. Make sure you’re prepared to take care of your new baby, handle crying, and help your baby sleep safely. And changing a diaper may be one thing, but breastfeeding is something everyone seems to struggle with. Breastfeeding might be natural, but it isn’t always easy. Discover how to get breastfeeding off to the best start you can. In this morning intensive class, we will cover:

  • The many common (incorrect) breastfeeding beliefs that make breastfeeding harder for both mom and baby
  • When to feed your baby and for how long
  • How to tell if your baby is full
  • Pumping and going back to work
  • How to avoid common problems and where to go for help if you do have concerns
  • Newborn procedures
  • Diaper changing
  • Bathing and skin care
  • Baby safety
  • Safe sleep
  • How to handle crying
  • Car seat basics

This class follows the criteria set forth by the International Code of Marketing of Breastmilk Substitutes.

You will be involved in learning every step of the way, and our small class sizes provide personal attention, allowing you to ask all of your questions. We will also have time for hands-on practice on a model doll. Class fee includes all materials and handouts and covers the attendance of the mother and one support person (which can be a husband, partner, family member, or friend).
